California Governor Gavin Newsom just signed new legislation that allows consumers to bring their own reusable containers to carry out food and beverages at public events. Starting in January, food vendors and restaurants will have the option of providing reusable containers and customers can bring their own. The bill was introduced to help reduce landfill waste that causes issues for the environment and public health. Not any container will be accepted through, restaurants and food vendors and refuse to fill up a container if it’s not specifically designed for reuse. So, you can’t wash your yogurt container to be filled, but you can bring a pyrex.
