Electronic waste, or e-waste, includes dangerous chemicals like lead, mercury and flame retardants, and when disposed of improperly, those chemicals can contaminate soil and water. In Oregon, it’s easy to dispose of e-waste properly with a program called Oregon E-Cycles. Oregon E-Cycles allows you to recycle up to 7 TVs, computers, laptops monitors and printers for free, and there are hundreds of locations across the state. For a spot near you, call Metro’s Recycling Information Hotline.
