We’re inching closer to planting season!

I woke in the middle of the night this past week with thoughts swirling around and then I remembered that it’s almost February and all of a sudden I was relaxed. Seems odd, I know, until I tell you that what calmed me and made me happy was that February is when I start working in the garden and get seedlings started. Spring is my favorite time of the year. Flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and it’s time to plant my vegetable garden. We’ve got a few weeks before all of the activity starts, but there are things you can do now to get your garden ready. I usually start by seeing what seeds I have and if they’re still good, I also start to think about what new veggies I might want to plant. Once I get into February, it’s time to start some seedlings and put together a planting calendar. I’ll also add compost and manure towards the end of the month, so the area is ready for planting. Not sure what to plant and when, I’ve got a few links below to get you started.
