In the past 25 years, America’s agricultural landscape has become 48 times more toxic to honeybees and other insects. That’s because of the widespread use of neonicotinoid pesticides. Neonicotinoids are incredibly toxic to honeybees and remain toxic for more than 1,000 days in the environment. With the loss of insects comes the decline of insect-eating birds, there’s been a widespread decline in nearly all bird species. Pesticides aren’t needed to grow our food and you can help by not using chemicals in your yard.
