Jack White brought the rock to Saturday Night Live as a late replacement for the show’s scheduled musical guest, country singer Morgan Wallen, who’s violated the show’s rules on social distancing for upcoming performers the previous weekend.

Fronting a trio, White began with a three-song medley of The White Stripes’ “Ball and Biscuit,” Beyoncé’s “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and Blind Willie Johnson’s “Jesus Is Coming Soon.” His second segment saw him playing an Eddie Van Halen-designed powder blue EVH guitar in tribute to the late guitar hero on the title track of his most recent solo album, “Lazaretto.”
