Natural bug repellents as good as DEET

For the most part, we don’t deal with mosquitoes on a daily basis like other parts of the country. But go for a hike or camping, and it’s another story. I avoid using anything that contains DEET to repel them, instead I’ve made my own repellent. There are a number of natural sprays out there, and the most effective contain oil of lemon eucalyptus extract. Researchers looked at eight commercially available repellents and found the one that was most effective had the oil of lemon eucalyptus extract. It was the only DEET-free formula to have strong and long-lasting effects.
