Keep your old cabinets, sinks, windows and doors out of the landfill

If you’re planning a remodel and want to try to keep as much out of the landfill as possible, there are a number of places that will take your old cabinets, sinks, windows, doors and other items. Habitat for Humanity Restore is one spot. They also have a Salvage Service that will remove reusable items and leave the area ready for the rebuild. The materials get sold in their stores to folks doing their own remodeling and the money raised help funds the Habitat for Humanity homes. Since the Restore is a non-profit, you’ll get a tax deduction for your donations. If you’re looking for items to buy for your project, the stores are open seven days a week.
