Holiday Inn just made a big announcement. They’re switching from single-use mini bottles of shampoo and other toiletries to bulk-size bathroom items in their effort to cut waste. The owner of Holiday Inn and InterContinental Hotels run nearly 843,000 guest rooms and say switching to larger-size amenities across more than 5,600 hotels around the world is a big step in the right direction, allowing them to reduce their waste footprint and their environmental impact. The chain uses an average of 200 million single-use bathroom toiletries a year. That’s a lot of plastic not going to the landfill.
