Freezer boxes, butter boxes and any other boxes found in the refrigerated section look like boxes you find on the store shelves. But they have one key ingredient that keeps them from getting soggy when exposed to moisture … plastic. These ‘paper’ boxes and cups don’t breakdown in the paper-making process, and when they get mixed into the paper recycling they can mess up the process. Put these in the garbage.
I bet you’re wondering about milk/juice and aseptic cartons. These containers are layered (not penetrated with) plastic and that makes them easier to separate.
