Burnt out string lights?

How is it possible for string lights to go into the Christmas bin in January working just fine and come out for the holidays not lighting up? If you’re finding yourself with a handful of Christmas lights that won’t light up, you’re not alone. The good news is that they are recyclable. The copper inside string lights, cords/cables and even chargers make them highly recyclable. Just resist the temptation to put them in your home recycling bin. String lights are “tanglers” and create chaos when placed in the home recycling bin. Take them instead to a metal recycler. If you’re not sure where to find one, call Metro’s Recycling Information Hotline or send them an email.
