There’s nothing like the first flowers of spring, unless the flowers are attached to a highly aggressive and invasive plant. Lesser Celandine has dark green, shiny leaves and pretty yellow petals, and looks harmless. However, Lesser Celandine is considered a noxious weed and can quickly take over in yards and gardens. It also can prevent the growth of native and ornamental plants by shading and secreting growth-suppressing chemicals into the soil.
