September 11, 2007- Burning Man update. Jessica stopped by this morning to give me a Burning Man debriefing. Crazy dust storms and rain! Burning Man caught fire ahead of schedule and finally, an 8 hour exit from the camp.

The annual event opened to its faithful this week. And right in time for the KINK BOOK CLUB, we have a most wonderful book for you that chronicles Burning Man in visuals and journal entries. A book to leave on your coffee table; open it up anytime, get deeply lost. "Burning Book: A Visual History" is that astonishing tribute through this annual cultural event.
A few Burning Man factoids: There's an art theme this year. "The Green Man". Burning Man site explains it this way: "Our theme concerns humanity's relationship to nature. Do we, as conscious beings, exist outside of nature's sway, or does its force impel us and inform the central root of who and what we are? "
The site also offers a "first timers guide" among other amazing reading.
Jessica Bruder is the journalist behind this book and her collaboration with a host of photographers results in quite the long, strange, very intriguing and fascinating trip.
