Wednesday, November 11, 2009 - Skiing and air-drumming!
Adventures of Power: Check this out at Cinema 21.
Ari Gold wrote, directed and stars in a new indy flick playing at Cinema 21 this week called Adventures of Power. It’s about, well, air drumming. He’s kind of Napolean Dynamite-ish as you’ll see when you watch the trailer. On a low, low budget, he managed to reel in numerous stars to participate in the film - Adrian Grenier ( from Entourage), Jane Lynch (from Glee, 40-year-old Virgin, etc.) and Michael McKean (Lenny of Lenny and Squiggy). Oh, and a fun fact: Ari’s identical twin brother did all the music for the film.
Ari spoke with Dave and Sheila this morning. He tells us "the beginning and end of all drummers is air!" LISTEN BELOW
From the orange and gold of fall to the pink cherry blossoms of spring, Signatures follows an entire winter deep in the hardwoods of Hokkaido, Japan. Deliciously deep January blower to April corn, we bring you a film about expression, and the art of riding on snow. Every turn has a personality, and every personality has it's own unique style: the air, the smear, the spin, the grab, the laid-out cutback carve. Shot in HD, Signatures is 100% human powered backcountry skiing in all snow-sliding styles: board, noboard, ski, and drop-knee.
