WHO IS ON THE CD?

The Dimes * Paul Kern Can't Sleep
The Dimes are a trusty staple of Portland’s best indie pop/rock bands. With “Paul Kern Can’t Sleep,” the band has deftly translated the story of a wounded World War I Veteran’s insomnia into a musical gem.

Dirty Martini * Waiting for Magic
Dirty Martini is comprised of 3 of the most talented songstresses in Portland. Stephanie Schneiderman, Lara Michelle and McKinley provide gorgeous harmonies and lush instrumental arrangements in their lovely compositions.

Intervision * All I'm Thinkin' About
Listening to Intervision without moving is a challenge. The band’s soul/funk-infused pop is made for dancing and lifting spirits. The song “All I’m thinkin about” is a great example of this with one of the catchiest hooks around.

Courtney Jones * Awake & Dreaming
Armed with an outstanding voice, exemplary piano playing and intelligent songs, Courtney Jones is poised to break into the big time. The title track from her CD “Awake and Dreaming” showcases this extraordinary local talent.

Justin Klump * No More Decembers
He’s been playing to packed crowds around town, and now Justin’s creating a national following. And along with his notoriety, Klump’s songwriting keeps getting better.

Amelia * The Great Escape
With several critically acclaimed albums and national radio airplay under their belt, the local band Amelia took some time off to tend to their lives. Lucky for us, they’re back with great new songs. “No Great Escape” is one such song.

Echo Helstrom * Davy Jones
The local band Echo Helstrom defies definition. Poignant lyrics provided by Ross Seligman imbue each song with a sense of urgency. “Davy Jones” is an anti-war anthem that stays with you.

Jamine Ash * Fall (Hidden Fortress Remix)
The unmistakable voice of Jasmine Ash flows lyrically and sweetly through her songs. With this version of the song “Fall,” Hidden Fortress remixes one of Jasmine’s best.

Brandon Chandler * Until The Whiskey Wears Off
Brandon Chandler is the whole package: great voice, solid songs, and a great look. It’s just a matter of time before this outstanding local talent makes it on to the global music radar.

Breanna Paletta * Follow Me Home
Best known for her work with local band Rye Hollow, Ms. Paletta has released plenty of great solo work. In the tradition of the best singer/songwriters, Breanna Paletta’s songs are full of thoughtful laments and beautiful melodies.

Derby * All Or Nothing
Isaac, Dave and Nat never fail to delight audiences with their indie rock songs. Lush harmonies, catchy hooks and straight up rock meld into the musical force that is Derby.

Julia Dawn * Beautiful Lie
A little funky, a little jazzy, Julia Dawn’s sound is a fusion of ear-pleasing elements. “Beautiful Lie” highlights her angelic voice. You can catch her in local clubs with a 3 piece band.

Jacob Merlin * Donut
Get up and groove with Jacob Merlin. His keyboards, horns and funky bass lines make for some good booty shaking. He’s the man behind one of Portland’s favorite jam bands.

Oh Darling * Blind Spot
Not just pop/rock, not just ethereal, Oh Darling is a 4 piece blend of moody melodies punctuated with lots of reverb and guitar solos. Jasmine Ash’s sweet soprano is the cherry on top of this unique indie sound.

Stephen Ashbrook * 21 Young
The song “21 Young” is one of the best new works from long-time Portland favorite Stephen Ashbrook. He’s played live for years all over the country, and worked with Pete Droge in the studio to perfect his alt country rock songs.

Beth Willis * Nothing
There’s blues, there’s rock, then there’s Beth Willis. This singer/songwriter wraps her strong voice around tuneful yarns of love and life.

Throwback Suburbia * Circles
One of the hardest working bands in town, Throwback Suburbia plays often and well. They’ve also opened for many national acts. This 4 piece makes great power pop.

Alex Arrowsmith * The Zaps
He writes, he sings, he plays all the instruments. Alex Arrowsmith makes quirky pop that is pure ear candy. Oh yeah, and his lyrics are fun too.

Lindsey Pool * Conversation
Named for a favorite neighborhood hang out in Hillsboro, the boys in Lindsey Pool play what they call “music that won’t embarrass your mother.” Nothing embarrassing about it, just good pop rock.

Cronin Tierney * Bruning Bridges
Mr. Tierney is one third of the Irish power trio St. James Gate, but he’s also a solid solo artist. Classically trained, Cronin Tierney’s musicianship and songwriting are second to none.
