My daughter suffered a concussion recently and I thought about how lucky I was to be by her side in the emergency room.  Dozens of times a year, a child suffers an accident or has an allergy attack when a parent is at work or unavailable to respond quickly. The OHSU effect talks about the importance of having a signed document so that your child’s caretaker knows exactly where to go for emergency care and how to avoid unfortunate drug interactions or further harm. You can download the form at Doernbecher Healthy Children’s blog and make sure to provide one for your child’s school, your babysitters, camp counselors and any other adult who shares in the care of your child.
