There are many familiar names on Laurel's new album. Some of my faves make an appearance in the grooves of HOUSE OF SNOW.  And a  new one to add to favorite creatives. ~Inessa

LAUREL BRAUNS

House of Snow was produced and arranged by Douglas Jenkins, creative director of the Portland Cello Project and features many of Portland’s finest musicians including Sam Cooper (Horse Feathers), Skip vonKuske (Vagabond Opera), and Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists.)

One of my favorite developments over the last year, when it comes to albums, is to completely enjoy the album art. Kaycee Anseth is the visual artist who was commissioned to do the cover art, and apparently was so moved by the songs, she created the back cover.

More about Laurel HERE.  Don't miss the Portland show 12/9 at Alberta Street Pub. Check the info HERE.

And listen to our conversation below. I really like that artwork, as I mentioned above. Done in a surprising technique. Take a listen!
