At the Record Store - 11/22

November 22, 2011, 8:32 am

It's almost Thanksgiving!  I know that I'll be doing a long drive to see the family.  If you're in the same boat, here's some music to pick up at a local record store before you hit the road! ~Jason Miller

Chris Cornell - Songbook: This seems to be an acoustic, intimate look at Chris Cornell's songwriting career.  You can expect the stories behind many of your favorite songs from Chris' various projects including Soundgarden, Audioslave, and his solo work.  He really has a special voice and stage presence, so these stripped down live performances should be outstanding.

The Duke Spirit - Bruiser: If you have a little aggression to get out, this might be the place.  These guys sound like the kind of band that would play a run-down rock venue the day before the fire-marshall/health inspector shut it down... and you could say you were there.  Get in on the ground floor with these guys (even if they've been around for a spell).

The Muppets - Soundtrack: I don't know about you, but I could not be more excited about the new Muppet movie.  Will it be as good as The Great Muppet Caper?  Hopefully better than Muppet Treasure Island.  In any case, they seem to be on the right track with this soundtrack.  Look for Feist, Paul Simon, Andrew Bird, and KERMIT THE FROG (of course)!
