After a week that felt like a year, elections behind us, it is time to kick back. Think about.....leaves falling, chill in air, what to have for dessert. Quiet walks on the beach, cozy fires, laughing....puppies. ~Inessa




1. DRACULA , A MUSICAL NIGHTMARE. This production is a high-camp take on the well-known story of the unaware and hapless Jonathan Harker, who visits the bloodthirsty count in his castle. See all your faves, from the Count, to Harker, to Van Helsing and Renfield. Set in the confines of a music-hall, no less. Playing now at PCPA's Brunish Theatre.


2. SIREN NATION FESTIVAL. Here's the mission statement: "Siren Nation's mission is to inspire and empower women of all ages to create their own art and to highlight the many achievements of women in the arts. Siren Nation promotes and showcases the original work of women artists by creating year round performance, exhibition, and educational opportunities." Workshops, music, art, craft! 3. CONTENT 2012. Sunday afternoon at 5p,  The Cleaners, smart and Ace Hotel present a live fashion installation in the guest rooms of Ace Hotel Portland. "An entire floor is transformed into a testimonial to the outsized relevance, talent and vitality of PDX, with each artist or designer projecting their vision onto one of 28 rooms." Bonus, for every Content 2012 ticket sold, Ace Hotel Portland donates five dollars to New York Cares to aid recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. More HERE.

4. START YOUR W-END WITH MUSIC.  Join us tonight (11/9/12)! For the first time ever, the Indigo Girls have embarked on a national symphony tour to perform a selection of songs spanning their career, from the 1980s through their most recent release, Beauty Queen Sister. They join the Oregon Symphony for one performance only at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. More HERE. 5. W-END MUSIC CAPPER. Take your pick on Sunday. Leonard Cohen brings his "Old Ideas World Tour " to the Theatre of the Clouds, and Brandi Carlile puts a very fine point on the week with her Crystal ballroom Show. Details HERE.
