A band that recalls bygone era. Their neo-soul sound is not cookie cutter, however.

BROWNISH BLACK

Catch Brownish Black at Blue Monk 11/2/12. It's a co-headlining show. The band gets on stage at 9:30. Details HERE.

MD Sharbatz and Ms Vicki dropped by our studios to talk about the new single, vinyl, living in Detroit, and trying to define the sound of the band. It is not karaoke. What it IS, is music informed by the Motown vibe and  there are indeed a few covers the band does, just because. But they are originals, no mistake. Michael could be mistaken for any number of indie rock guys, so it's really fun to see him turn into something so unexpected. Ms Vicki? She doesn't save up anything for later. This powerhouse shares! Nothing could be more fun! Enjoy our conversation, below.
