Sandy and her band are doing the now 2nd annual Cody Myers benefit show. Check out the details below. And thanks to Sandy for sharing the info on this one.

The Second Annual Cody Myers Music Outreach Foundation Benefit 10/21 @Trails End Saloon

Cody Myers loved music. Before his life was tragically taken a little more than a year ago while on his way to the Newport Jazz Festival, the nineteen year old had played in several bands and had informed his family that he had a goal to help bring the gift of music to underprivileged children whose families could not afford to buy lessons or instruments. In his memory, the family created the Cody Myers Music Outreach Foundation to keep his dream alive.

To help raise funds for the Foundation, the Trail’s End Saloon in Oregon City held a special day-long benefit concert that was quite successful. So successful and popular that they will be holding the Second Annual Cody Myers Music Outreach Foundation Benefit on Sunday, October 21st, from noon until midnight. The Trail’s End Saloon is located at 1320 Main Street in Oregon City. Admission to the event is a requested donation of $10 at the door. There will also be a raffle held.

The line-up for the event is quite impressive, with so many musicians willing to give their time for this cause. Help keep Cody’s vision continue. Attend this event and help those children who would otherwise be unable to pursue their dream to learn and make music themselves.

The scheduled line-up for the Cody Myers Music Outreach Foundation Benefit is as follows. (Please note that such shows are always subject to time/performer changes):

THE SANDY SAUNDERS BAND

I bet there are bands like this sprinkled all across the land. Holding day jobs. Playing w-end gigs, because they are passionate about the music.  Here's one of them here in Portland!

Sandy is from Augusta , Georgia. Her guitar player, Billy Lindsay, is from Glasgow, Scotland. Each moved to Portland about 15 years ago. Met only later. Now an integral part of the sound of the band.  Its "...rock and blues...with a southern girl behind the wheel.." as Sandy's bio states!!

The band will be part of a benefit show for Cody Myers at Trails End Saloon on Sunday. The music starts at noon, and Sandy and her band will be on at 12:50. More HERE.

Sandy and Billy dropped our studios earlier in the week to talk about how it works for this band, and some upcoming shows as well. LISTEN BELOW.
