Halloween vibe starts now. Corn mazes are open. Get a big serving of OPA! And it's time we got to know the newly bustling and emerging Eastside.
1. SCARY HALLOWEEN CLASSICS
. Halloween is around the corner. Get into the mood now with a literal storm of scary classics playing at a movie theatre near you. And this w-end is only the beginning: The funny smart scary Poltergeist
is at the Bagdad tonight at 11p for the 21 and over crowd. And The Shining
, in 35mm, opens tonight at the Hollywood Theatre for a limited run.
2. CORN MAZES. The Pumpkin Patch
is open for business. Or do Kruger's Farm
and get lost in the corn maze. Hours of fun!
3. STREETCAR MOBILE MUSICFEST.
Friday from 6p-10p, a chance to immerse yourself into the changing eastside neighborhood that stretches from The Left Bank to OMSI. Catch local bands live on board
every street car from 6-10 tonight. Take in the First Friday Art Walk
and your eastside immersion is complete.
4. 4th ANNUAL GREAT WILLAMETTE CLEAN UP
. Saturday, its your day to do the volunteer thing. 187 mile effort to clean up the river. River enthusiasts and communities from Eugene to Portland invited take part. It’s family friendly and open to the public with nearly a dozen locations, both on-water, by boat, and on-land, and by-foot. BYOB (bring your own boat), or rent a canoe and kayaks. Proceeds will be donated to Willamatte Riverkeeper
5. GREEK FESTIVAL
The Greek Festival remains a wonderful opportunity for the Greek community to share annually with over 15,000 guests from the Portland Metropolitan area cherished cultural traditions, food, music, and dance. 61st Annual Greek Festival
October 5th, 6th & 7th, 2012
10am to 10pm Friday and Saturday
