We received hundreds of amazing pooch photos for our By Nature® Scouting for Portland's Pooch contest. We let our nifty randomizer do the picking because I love all pooches and picking one of the other just isn't my style.So, the winner is Mara. She's definitely a cutie and her photo was sent in by her proud dad, Mark Olsen. They'll be receiving a 1 year supply of By Nature® Dog Food, a pet grooming session, and a photo shoot to capture Mara in all of her glory.
Here's what Mark had to say about Mara:
"This is my 4 month old blue heeler named Mara. She was a surprise birthday present from my loving wife. It was sad at our house this year. We lost two of my best friends, "Jack," a 7 1/2 year old blue heeler we lost to prostate cancer, and "Doray," a 14 1/2 year old blue heeler with a brain tumor.
"Three months went by without the happy greetings when I got home, the long walks in the park and the flying out the car window. We don't have any children so are dogs are very special at are home. My wife, Shannon, said "Let's go to Mt. Hood for your birthday."
"She said we had to stop in Sandy to pick up some paperwork from a coworker to take back to the office Monday. We waited at the Sandy Fred Meyer, a car pulled up and to my surprise out got a lady and handed me a 6-week-old little blue heeler who I named "Mara", the gift that keeps on giving.
"She just turned 4-months-old, she has been through basic puppy training and puppy agility at Pup-A-Razzi in Aloha. I love her to pieces. I hope you do too!"
