Just checked the forecast for the w-end and it's going to be really fine. So let's jump in the river together.THE BIG FLOAT
Some things require we do it together, one big group. That’s what the outrageous idea of The Big Float is all about. Sunday afternoon we’ll gather near the east entrance to the Hawthorne Bridge, carry or wear our flotation devices across the bridge and march south along Waterfront Park to the beach area beneath the Marquam. Yes it begins with a parade, people.
Then, we jump into the water and float across to the east bank at Hawthorne Cove, a newly created beach for our beloved Willamette River. Completely safe to splash around in. Then we’ll all stick around for the Great Crossing celebration with live music, food carts.
The whole Portland experience on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Hope you can be part of the Big Float.
