This July 4th, we invite  New York Times bestselling author Kenneth C. Davis to help us
brush us up on our history.


DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT HISTORY

We've hung out our flags. The burgers and dogs are ready to grill. We've
even got the red, white, and blue paper napkins on the picnic table as we
await the fireworks display.

But while we are all in “Pursuit of Happiness,” what exactly are we
celebrating?

This year, the 236th anniversary of America's most historic holiday falls as
the nation continues to mark the 150th anniversary of the Civil War which
grew more bloody and controversial in the summer of 1862; and the 200th
anniversary of the War of 1812, which gave us the national anthem and two
future presidents as war heroes.

Ken Davis calls the Declaration of Independence a "radical" document that has been a continuing inspiration for revolutionary movements around the world. Enjoy our conversation below and enjoy your July 4th! ~Inessa
