BODY BACK

Whether you had your baby yesterday, or thirty years ago, Heather Pollock is here with an encyclopedic vision of how to get back not just your body, but your mind. I especially like that Heather has included "alternative" ways of approaching our health. She wrote the book after having her third child. Heather looked around, and realized there was nothing out there to guide her back to "herself". So SHE took it on. Served as a guinea pig for much of her research. Looked to a team of experts to guide her.  Check out her website HERE.
Body Back
is a great resource for getting your mind back, your body back, get YOU back! Listen to our conversation, below.

RAIN DRAGON

I've followed Jon Raymond over the course of a bunch of different projects. Not just as writer (The Half-Life, Livability), but also as screenwriter (Old Joy, Wendy & Lucy, Meek's Cutoff). Jon also co-wrote the Emmy-nominated screenplay for HBO's miniseries Mildred Pierce.

Now comes a book you could categorize as "lad-lit", or maybe "Cascadian/Portlandia Lit".
The story is basically one of a couple moving from Los Angeles to the NW in a maybe last-ditch effort to revive their waning relationship, and find new meaning in life. Enter the utopian farm called Rain Dragon. There's Amy, the lazer-focused part of the couple and Damon (told from his point of view) as the disaffected and uninspired by farm-life guy.

"Do what you love and the money will come"

"I calculated we had at least three more hours of tiling to go, and I'd already run out of major thoughts to think," Damon frets. "Outside, the sun was shining onto a world of birds and grass and interesting human interactions, none of which I was able to see from where I was crouched." Damon is just not hard-wired to find any pleasure in learning any of the down and dirty activities of the hippie dream.

Jon stopped by recently to talk about the new book, new projects and what we are loving on the small screen right now. Enjoy!
