2. QUIET MUSIC FESTIVAL OF PORTLAND. Pump DOWN the volume for this fascinating immersion into the art of "quiet music" and "quiet listening". The two-day music event opens on Friday, June 15 and runs through Saturday, June 16, at local arts and cultural organization Disjecta.
3. SCANDINAVIAN MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL. Celebrate Summer Solstice, Scandinavian style. Oaks Park transports you to the Nordic countries with Maypoles, bonfires, music, food, beer, fun for kids, all day into the evening. 11am-9pm. More HERE.
4. PEDALPALOOZA 2012. It's week 2 of 3 weeks of bikey fun. OF COURSE, there's the World Naked Bike Ride, Saturday night. ("DON'T BE A JERK", THE ORGANIZERS ADMONISH!). But the ride on Saturday afternoon looks really fun! It's the KIDICAL MASS CIRCUS RIDE. Great for the entire family. Check it out HERE.
5. NATIONAL GEEK DAD'S DAY. OMSI will have activities that promote the day for parents to experiment with fun activities designed to fortify relationships and children's passions for science, technology, engineering and math.
11am - 1pm Toy Tune-Up: Bring your broken or unwanted toys to our tinker's workshop.
2pm - 4pm Steam Engine: See OMSI's real working steam engine in action, and learn about how steam powered the industrial revolution.
