Silverhawk's Sam Densmore has had a bunch of songs laying around, just waiting to be shaped and finished. Here it comes, a "double EP"!

SAM DENSMORE'S DOUBLE EP

UPDATE: 6.13.12 Sam is releasing the double EP ,  the first entitled “Sad Songs For A Sad World” and the second called “Cat Years”. Taken as a whole, it's “Ku-Thar’-Tik”.

I asked Sam if there were any happy songs on this album, and he said, "Well, maybe one." OK. So this is a collection about love and loss. That's why he is out solo with this one. It's Sam's stories. The song we are featuring on KINK is called "Twisted Drunk" which is a little story that goes back to his third-grade self. LISTEN TO OUR CONVERSATION BELOW.

Update (2.6.12): When Silverhawk's Sam Densmore dropped by our studios, he laughed about how long it's taken to create their new, third album. Worth the wait! Officially out February 7!
Sam dropped by today to bring me up to speed on a couple of shows that are coming up. We  talked about the realities of being a musician in 2012.  And HERE is the info on two upcoming fun shows in Portland.

In addition, you can check out Spinner. They are offering Silverhawk in their Full CD Listening Party all this week.  Check it out HERE.

The new album, The Forest for the Trees, will officially release in February. I immediately suggest to Sam that it's psychedelic if only because I can't decipher any of the curly-q writing on the record cover.

Sam tells me the story of how the cover art was conceived. He along with his brother John and Anthony Cotham took to Mt Tabor and did a shoot. Anthony is a working artist in different mediums, so do yourself a favor and check out the cover closely, when you pick up the album.

Two immediate shows to see. One in Estacada 12/10 and the next on in St John's 12/16. Find the info on those HERE.

Enjoy our laugh-fest, below.

As we head into December and the countdown towards the New Year, it's a fitting time to look back and reflect on the year in music.
A southern gothic supernatural musical from co-conspirators Stephen King, John Mellencamp and T Bone Burnett.
Australian rockers take a psychedelic journey with Tidal Wave video.
A new album, Somehow Divine, is most definitely ear candy flavored by Scott's really fine voice and songwriting.
A day job that provides for the night job. A musician's work is never done!
"Bucket Boys" has been dropped. But the inventive bluegrass/punk vibe is still there.
