Boat races, bikey fun, beer week (fruity beer!!) and free fishing. ~Inessa

1. PEDALPALOOZA. 3+ weeks of bikey fun. With 272 different events, most organized by individuals, bikers of all persuasions are likely to find many events of interest. Nearly all events are free. Say you love geisha styles? Put on your favorite Japanese fashion and join the Kamakazie Girls ride on Sunday. But of course the most infamous one is the Naked Ride, right?  The first of several comes up Saturday afternoon. Practice freedom for this non –erotic everybody welcome ride 3 to 6p on a Saturday afternoon. Pedalpaooza calendar is HERE.

2. PETAL PEDAL. REGISTER NOW!!! This is a very different kind of a ride over midsummer w-end, June 23rd. Silverton and the Oregon Garden will be your starting point with 100, 68 or 30 amazing miles. You'll travel along Oregon's quiet rural roads, past Willamette Valley wineries, to Silver Falls, through vibrant blooming fields of flowers and on a journey that will make you fall in love with Oregon. The ride's Ayleen Crotty suggests  camping at the nearby Geer Crest Farms and take in their amazing Sunday brunch! Register now to take advantage of discounts HERE.

Ayleen lays out the ride that includes a gorgeous setting and gourmet food. Checkout our convo, below.

3. FREE FISHING W-END. Fish any of the state’s waters open to fishing, for free. Closet stops near Portland  includes Champoeg State Park and St Louis Ponds. Check the complete list of fishing and crabbing spots HERE.

4. PDX BEER WEEK. Lots to try out over the coming week, but for this w-end, we suggest the  Portland Fruit Beer Festival: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Burnside Brewing, 701 E. Burnside St.  More than two dozen breweries are making beer for this year's festival that explores the unique, creative and exotic possibilities of fruit beers. Check the frothy detes HERE.

5. ROSE FESTIVAL'S BIGGEST W-END. The Burnside Bridge will close to motor vehicle and river traffic on Saturday, June 9 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the Portland Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade. We have the Dragon Boat races, and the Dairy Farmers of Oregon Milk Carton Boat Races. Join us at Eastmoreland's casting pond Sunday morning cheering everyone on including our own intrepid. Team Kink ship. I hear the weather is going to be outstanding. They are free and fun!! More Here.

PETAL PEDAL is coming up Saturday June 23. Event organizer Ayleen Crotty convinces me that Petal Pedal may just be the most serene and beautiful ride of the year. Listen below.
