A band whose music harkens to the most prolific and inventive elements in the canon of West Coast psych-folk, in 2011 The Parson Red Heads celebrated the release of Yearling and toured supporting that release with Viva Voce, Alela Diane and Fruit Bats.

The true power of The Parson Red Heads is undeniable live.  The group will take a break from working on their follow-up effort to Yearling with a handful of shows at the end of the month with Tommy Keene and then hit the road with fellow music mavericks Blitzen Trapper on a run of dates that will bring the group down to this year's SXSW!

THE PARSON RED HEADS

Here's something about the band, in the words of Jim Desmond:

Band members:
Evan Way – songwriter, vocals, guitars
Brette Marie Way – drums, vocals
Sam Fowles – guitars, vocals, songwriter (“Happy We Agree”, “I Was Only”)
Charlie Hester – bass, vocals

By any definition, The Parson Red Heads are in harmony:

har·mo·ny noun ˈhär-mə-nē

1 tuneful sound
2 the combination of simultaneous musical notes in a chord
3 pleasing or congruent arrangement of parts
4 internal calm: tranquility
5 an interweaving of different accounts into a single narrative
