As a kid I built my own Pirate Radio station in the attic of my parents house, and broadcasted to a five block radius on the AM Dial. When I became a senior in high school, I got my first job in radio at KVAN 1480 AM , March 1,1970. Since then, I have spent time at KQIV 106.7, KGON, KMJK, KKRH and now my home at KINK for the past twelve years.
During these 40 years I was the stage manager and assistant manager at The Paramount Theatre (1971-1976) during my evening hours. I also managed a rock group in town named Sequel from 1979-1983. I currently have my own business called Internet Jock.
My true music passion is for Blues. I produce Sunday Night Blues on KINK from 7-10pm. I learn something new every day about the blues and love to trace its roots to music we hear today. My hobbies include being a scanner geek, snow skiing, boating, saltwater fishing, my golden retriever Ty, riding with my police friends and collecting Blues Music. I almost became a cop, but I was too short for their requirements in those days.
Currently, I%u2019m married and have a wonderful 26 year old daughter and a grandson. I will be celebrating 42 years in Portland Radio March 1st, 2012, and was inducted in to the Oregon Music Hall Of Fame on October 8th, 2011. I will retire Sunday July 8th at the Waterfront Blues Festival.
