GYPSY FUZZ

From the official bio:

Portland based, Christine Havrilla, embarks on an ambitious new journey with her Gypsy Fuzz project. Havrilla, a Philadelphia native, who has five studio albums, three EPs, and over a decade of touring under her belt, ventures into a new band project with Gypsy Fuzz. The power trio based band features Christine on electric guitar, and has been described as "70s rock meets R.E.M delivered by the modern singer/songwriter."

Gypsy Fuzz's first release, Searching. Finding. Living. is co-produced by Havrilla and renowned producer, Larry Crane (Cat Power). Layers of sound, and dark lyrics take listeners on a journey from power-house rock on tracks like "Buzz Kill," "Desire," and "Grace," to ethereal sounds on "Dance with Me," "Over My Line," and "Foolish Lullaby."

Searching. Finding. Living. features special guests from The Portland Cello Project on strings, Russell Gray on guitar, Mel Watson (Fruit) on horns, Luther Russell and James Gray (Blue Rodeo) on organ and piano, and vocals from The Stolen Sweets and Edie Carey.

Gypsy Fuzz is fronted by Christine Havrilla on electric guitar, as she brings her aggressive, raw, trash-style playing well known by fans and critics alike from her solo projects.

•"Strong and soulful...a confident and seasoned performer..." (The Washington Post)
•"Raw, simple, and wonderful..." (Curve Magazine)
•"Havrilla's a talented veteran songwriter, one who is worth joining for the ride" (Upstage Magazine)
•"Terrific, big sound..." (Michaela Majoun / WXPN Radio)
Rob Schnell and Mike Kurman join Christine by adding a strong rhythm section to Gypsy Fuzz.

Rob Schnell was raised outside of Philadelphia, and thanks to his parents (including his father who plays piano and accordion), he started playing music at a young age. With a professional career spanning over 20 years, Rob has played and recorded drums and percussion all over the U.S. and Canada with a diverse group of artists including Bo Diddley, Spencer Davis, and Tracy Grammer.

Mike "Kurm" Kurman has been playing music since the age of five. He has worked with numerous musicians from many different genres. Mike notes, "Some people you may know, some people you may not, but that doesn't make them any more or less fantastic musicians. There are plenty of talented people pushing brooms somewhere." He adds, "I just want to make excellent music. I truly appreciate everyone who has helped make my musical journey enjoyable."

Comprised of veteran musicians and fronted by Christine Havrilla, Gypsy Fuzz makes its mark with Searching. Finding. Living. Havrilla's lyrics and music for the debut from Gypsy Fuzz sets the tone for a spiritual, sonic journey.
