At the Record Store 3/20

The day has come for fans of The Shins. Many more great new releases at your local record store as well. ~Jason Miller
The Shins - Port of Morrow: A hearty welcome back to The Shins, who return after a brief hiatus. You've probably heard their outstanding single "Simple Song" on KINK. Now let's see if James Mercer has anymore tricks up his sleeve. If this album is half as good as "Chutes Too Narrow," or "Wincing the Night Away," than I'll have no problem dropping a few bucks for it.
Birdy - Birdy: She comes to us from across the pond (England, you know). A very talented songstress who I'm excited to hear more of. I've been playing her very catchy single "Skinny Love," on KINK Sunday Brunch.
Esperanza Spalding - Radio Music Society: Perhaps most famous for beating out Justin Bieber at the Grammys last year for Best New Artist, Spalding is a Portlander with a ton of talent. Complex might be the best word to describe her music. Complex arrangements, jazz infusion, interesting lyrics. Give it a taste...
