Tommy Hough has been a broadcaster for so long he can't recall what he was doing beforehand, but it probably involved being semi-loud and talking about music, the environment, the outdoors, and current events.

A Southern California radio veteran, Tommy spent nearly 10 years on the air at the groundbreaking KBZT FM 94/9 in San Diego. One of the first stations in the U.S. to shake free of genre formatics and embrace eclecticism, Tommy's time at FM 94/9 was also marked by his on-air embrace of the national explosion in craft beer, and a weekly craft beer benchmark during his show featuring Stone Brewing and other area brewers.

Tommy also grew his Treehuggers International new media outlet while at FM 94/9, and served as the station's Public Affairs Director, balancing his time talking to rock stars and celebrities with in-depth conversations with civic leaders and newsmakers. He continues to host the long-running Bob Marley show Brunch With Bob and Friends on San Diego radio.

A previous resident of Seattle as well, Tommy was heard in the Emerald City on 107.7 The End, 102.5 KZOK-FM, and the now-defunct 96.5 The Point.

When not on the air at KINK, Tommy's day job is preserving and protecting Oregon's remaining old-growth forest, watersheds and wildlife habitat, as he handles communications and outreach for Oregon Wild. A determined wilderness and outdoor advocate, Tommy is applying his media aptitude to ensure Oregon Wild's message is heard statewide and around the country.

"Wherever you are in the Pacific Northwest, stop and look around," says Tommy. "Because you have what everyone else in the nation wants. From glacier-capped mountains and rugged landscapes, to forests with colossal trees, world-class rivers, deserts and development-free beaches, Oregon is an incredible natural resource. From our fresh air to fresh food to the freedom of reaching the tops of ice-clad peaks and river bottoms, enjoy it. And take care of it."

Tommy is also the co-founder of a small, boutique media production outlet called Primary Focus, and recently assisted the San Diego Surfrider chapter and a U.S. congressional campaign with communications strategies and multimedia. His craft beer and discussion podcast High Octane Growler posts new material every Tuesday.
