New Year: New KINK, and TONS OF MUSIC!
January 10, 2012, 4:00 pm
Late in 2011 we sent out a survey and asked what you liked
about KINK and what you’d like more of. We received 1,244 responses and you were
full of great ideas! Here are some of the things you said were important to
you.
THE ENVIRONMENT.
101.9 KINK has always been a leader in the green movement. But environmental
issues grow more troubling ever year. We’re adding KINK “Green Tips” weekdays
at 6:15am, 1:30pm and 7:30pm. These brief messages will include information
about things happening in our eco-community and simple things you can do to
help.
LIVE MUSIC.
It seems KINK fans have a big appetite for live music, including Bing Lounge
performances. So each weekday at 3:30pm, Steve Pringle will feature a live
performance from The Bing Lounge. Listen for new recordings, and ‘the best of’
The Bing!
MORE FUN.
Some stations take themselves pretty seriously. At KINK we aim for a bit of
levity. And that levity is getting bigger with the addition of “KINK Commuter
Comedy” weekdays at 5:30pm during the Drive @ 5”. Pringle will play a bit of
comedy every day to lighten your commute. More laughs in 2012!
LOCAL MUSIC.
101.9 KINK has always featured local artists in our line-up. Now the “Homegrown
Music Spotlight” weeknights at 8:30pm will include artist interviews and the
best music of the Northwest.
MUSIC DISCOVERY.
You look to KINK to introduce you to the best new music. And we deliver! We’re
adding a new feature called “The 10 O’Clock News” weeknights at 10pm. It’s a
half an hour of brand new music of various styles and sounds. You’ll hear
excellent new music before anyone else on your block!
